UDS Plans
Compare UDS Enterprise, designed for enterprise-scale deployments to cloud and on-prem systems, with UDS Fleet, built to deploy and manage a fleet of distributed systems at the edge.
UDS Enterprise
Get Software to the Enterprise
Securely deploy and manage mission applications in cloud and/or on-prem systems at enterprise scale, with an accelerated path to ATO.
Primary Use Case
Enterprise cloud & on-prem
Ideal for large-scale compute environments in commercial cloud or on-prem data centers, supporting hundreds of applications and thousands of concurrent users, managed by IT engineers.

UDS License FAQs
What you need to know about UDS Plans.
How is UDS licensed?
UDS Enterprise and UDS Fleet are licensed per “unique environment,” which is defined as a unique combination of:
- Infrastructure/Hypervisor (e.g., Azure vs. AWS)
- Kubernetes Distribution (e.g., EKS vs. k0s)
- Classification/Impact Level (e.g., IL4 vs. IL5)
- Geographic Location (Individual Aircraft, Ships, Vehicles, etc.)
UDS licenses are sold on a Firm-Fixed Price (FFP) basis. Contact us to determine pricing for your mission needs.
Is UDS Open Source?
The foundational components of UDS, “UDS Base”, are 100% free and open source under the AGPL-3.0 license. This includes:
- UDS Core Secure Runtime Platform
- UDS Command Line Interface (CLI)
- Software Bill-of-Materials (SBOM)
UDS Base ensures your mission can run, with or without Defense Unicorns, putting an end to vendor lock-in.
The paid UDS Enterprise and UDS Fleet licenses build on UDS Base, adding enhanced features, security, and support.
What’s included with support?
UDS Enterprise and UDS Fleet include general support services via phone and email for incidents, troubleshooting, and other matters, with 24/7 response for critical issues. Service Level Agreement (SLA) details are listed in the Product Terms & Conditions.
If your mission requires additional support, such as on-location Site Reliability Engineers and/or Forward Deployed Engineering, Defense Unicorns also provides “Mission-as-a-Service” support subscriptions.
UDS Base is the free, open source foundation of UDS and does not include dedicated support. It is provided as-is under the AGPL-3.0 license.
What happens if I don’t renew?
Defense Unicorns is dedicated to doing what’s right for the warfighter. We know that funding can shift and budgets aren’t always approved on time, but the mission doesn’t stop.
UDS Base will always be 100% open source, with all updates freely available. This is the secure foundation for continuing to run your mission.
You can continue using the paid features of UDS Enterprise and UDS Fleet indefinitely. There is no technical or contractual mechanism to prevent that, such as expiring license keys. However, you will lose access to future software updates and support.
Put simply, you can continue using the last version of our licensed software that you paid for. The open source components will always be free.
