Let’s Talk UDS Fleet

Tell us a bit about your team and we will be in touch.

Get software to the edge

UDS Fleet simplifies the deployment and management of software at scale across distributed military systems at the tactical edge. It is an end-to-end platform, purpose-built for airgapped and DDIL environments.

UDS Fleet enables warfighters to own their destiny through easy distribution and management of software capabilities.

dominate the battlefield of things

Simplify deploying and managing software at scale across a fleet of diverse, distributed edge systems with limited connectivity: The “Battlefield of Things.”

UDS Fleet enables reliable one-to-one management of mission systems through operator-accessible interfaces on web, tablet, and mobile devices, supporting consistent, scalable sustainment and a known-good operational baseline where traditional connectivity and support models do not apply. It provides one-to-many fleet-wide observability and management through the UDS Fleet Command interface.

Built for WarFighters

UDS Fleet‘s intuitive web, tablet, and mobile interfaces make deploying and managing mission software as simple as downloading an app, empowering every operator at the edge to own their system, no specialized IT expertise required.

one package, any environment

Build once and deploy anywhere, from enterprise cloud to the tactical edge. UDS Fleet eliminates redundant engineering work and vendor lock-in with a portable platform that runs consistently across any infrastructure.

Collapse the ATO timeline

UDS Fleet meets key NIST SP 800-53 technical controls out of the box, collapsing the timeline to ATO submission from months to days while ensuring your environment is secure and compliant from the moment of initial deployment.

Push-Button Simple Delivery

UDS Fleet Connect simplifies software deployment at the tactical edge through operator-centric interfaces on the web, tablet, and mobile devices. It makes downloading and deploying software updates to disconnected, airgapped systems across the Battlefield of Things as easy as downloading apps to your cell phone at home.

UDS Fleet Connect is available as a native Android App and a Web App accessible via a desktop or tablet browser.

Fleet-Wide Observability

UDS Fleet Command provides centralized observability and management across a fleet of UDS systems, from secure cloud to distributed edge systems.

This extends UDS Fleet Connect, which provides one-to-one system management, to one-to-many fleet-wide observability and control, giving operators and support teams a consolidated view of deployed systems.

Full-Stack and Mission-Ready

UDS System Images deliver fast, simple, and repeatable software installation and updates for the Battlefield of Things. These purpose-built, immutable system images cover the full stack: Operating System, Kubernetes, UDS, and Mission Applications, all wrapped up in a single, self-contained package.

From bare-metal installation to updates, UDS System Images make it easy. When an issue arises in the field, rather than hunting through configs and calling tech support, warfighters can simply reset systems to a known-good state in minutes with a single click, minimizing downtime and operational risk.

Connecting the Disconnected

UDS Fleet provides a mesh protocol that connects heterogeneous systems (drones, sensors, cloud servers, embedded devices, etc.) into a coordinated whole, across any transport path, even when the network is degraded.

Built for DDIL operations, UDS Fleet enables the efficient distribution of software and information across constrained network environments.

Software at the ready, from satellites to submarines

Simple

Enable every warfighter to manage the software that powers their systems, with interfaces built for mission operators, not engineers.

scalabLe

Observe and manage software across hundreds of diverse mission systems in the Battlefield of Things from a single interface.

portable

Reduce engineering work by packaging software once and deploying anywhere, from enterprise cloud to the tactical edge.

airgap native

No Internet? No Problem. Deploy and manage software in DDIL environments with resilient data mesh capabilities.

UDS Fleet FAQs

What you need to know about UDS Fleet.

WHAT IS UDS FLEET?

UDS Fleet is an end-to-end software deployment and management platform purpose-built for the tactical edge. It enables warfighters and operators to deploy, update, and manage mission-critical software across a distributed fleet of systems in airgapped and Denied, Degraded, Intermittent, and Limited (DDIL) network environments. UDS Fleet includes UDS Fleet Connect for one-to-one edge system management via web, tablet, and mobile, and UDS Fleet Command for one-to-many fleet-wide observability and control across hundreds of systems from a single interface.

How does UDS Fleet compare to UDS Enterprise?

UDS Fleet is designed to empower any warfighter to deploy and manage software at the tactical edge, with push-button-simple interfaces that make installing and updating software as easy as downloading an app to a phone. It’s built for the operational realities of DDIL environments, systems that need rapid resets, and operators who are not specialized IT experts.

UDS Enterprise is designed for enterprise-scale cloud and on-prem environments, which are typically managed by a team of IT engineers. It includes advanced Cybersecurity Assessment Tools that provide the insights needed by cybersecurity professionals and Authorizing Officials (AOs) to accelerate the path to an Authorization to Operate (ATO).

What military vehicles does UDS Fleet support?

UDS Fleet is platform-agnostic and designed to run across the Battlefield of Things, including aircraft, ground vehicles, naval vessels, satellites, drones, and dismounted systems. Because it packages software into immutable, self-contained artifacts that require no connectivity, it can deploy to any system that meets basic compute requirements, regardless of form factor or network availability.

In a demonstrated example, Defense Unicorns partnered with the Air Force Sustainment Center Software Directorate to successfully demonstrate continuous software delivery to the F-22 Raptor, installing and upgrading software in the F-22 open mission system compute enclave in a matter of minutes, a first for the platform. When operationalized, this enables rapid deployment of new capabilities across the fleet. Read more here.

How does UDS Fleet Work?

UDS Fleet works in three steps: Package, Deploy, and Manage. Software is packaged once into immutable, self-contained artifacts using the UDS platform with no connectivity required. Those artifacts are distributed to edge systems via UDS Fleet Connect, accessible through web, tablet, or a native Android app, allowing any operator to deploy updates as easily as downloading an app to a phone. When issues arise, crews can reset systems to a pre-validated known-good baseline in minutes rather than waiting for specialized IT support. UDS Fleet Command provides an optional layer of one-to-many visibility and control across the entire deployed fleet when connectivity is available.

What does UDS Fleet cost?

UDS Fleet is licensed per system through a subscription model sized to your deployment, whether you’re managing a handful of edge systems or a fleet of thousands.

UDS licenses are sold on a Firm-Fixed Price (FFP) basis and are available through low-friction contracting paths (see our Contract Vehicles page). Contact us to determine pricing for your mission needs.
